I had no idea who the hell this guy is.
From the Wikipedia bio:

In August 2007, Maradona went further, making an appearance on Chávez's weekly television show and saying: "I hate everything that comes from the United States. I hate it with all my strength."

So....

Even if Maradona was standing on a step ladder jumping up to punch the ball, Shilton should have got to it first. So good luck to the cheeky little chappy.

One of the best footballers ever, what's so wrong with being fat? You can never take that second goal off him he scored in the same match. Superb player.

Probably the best after Pelé and Zidane, but you'll have to admit that not too many former athletes let themselves go to pot to the extent he has. His numerous rehabs for various eating disorders and drug addictions, as well as his loose-cannon mouth and utter lack of humility, have turned him into a cartoon character.

... And I wouldn't have him any other way! Very Happy Garsh love 'im! Go, Diego, Go!

Actually, he's quite slim again now (he is the new manager of Argentina) having had a stomach by-pass some years ago. Without it he would have died.

Pele Good
Maradona Better
George Best

Cool

My children and I enjoy playing baby foot in our basement, although the oldest prefers the term Fußball. He's also an excellent striker (scored 75% of his side's goals this year) who loves playing, in his own words, foot. However, professional athletes in general leave us cold, which might explain some of my ignorance about recent sporting events and the lives of sports personalities.

Does that answer your question?

Always better to play and enjoy sport than to watch professional sport. Watching is OK and I do lots of it. But the sheer fun and exhileration, especially with your own kids, far outweighs the commercial circus that professional sport has become. Cheers. He was a bit of a fat git wasn't he? Laughing
