Anyone know of any effects boxes that specialise in psychedelic sounds?

It's easier in the digi-world because you can copy a portion of the waveform audio, copy it, reverse it and paste it in on a new track in less time than it takes to get the reel of tape off the machine.

Yeah - apparently my machine does this - I'll have to investigate.

Of course, once I find out how to do it, I'll have to have a backwards gtr solo on every song!

Ideally, every recording machine should come with a Dukes button for automatic psychedelia!

You could use something free like Audacity - that has these features... I use it a lot with my recordings. Worth while looking at...

The key, of course, is having software that supports multiple tracks.

If you can isolate the instrument or music section, you would highlight it and copy it. Then paste it into a separate track and either:

a) Add effect, then reverse ...or
b) Reverse, then add effect ...or
c) Reverse, then add effect, then reverse again!
(yes this could go on forever)

Another option is if you can have the effect alone recorded onto a different track than the source so that you can manipulate it at will.

I did it - I now have access to backwards effects - awl-fucking-right!
