There is a group of Clinton supporters, who call themselves PUMA, that refuse to support Obama and even say they will vote for McCain. I guess the concept is, that if Obama were defeated it would somehow prove that Hillary was a better candidate. What a bunch of delusional twits, if they think a McCain presidency will be worth proving their dubious point Mad

On the flipside there are the Anti-Pumas.. Of course their story won't find purchase with the corporate media as it does nothing to promote divisiveness, or hurt the Dems..

On Monday, James Carville, who managed Bill Clinton's successful 1992 campaign, told CNN: "If this party has a message, it's done a hell of a job hiding it tonight, I promise you that."

James Carville is a smart guy, but he can kiss my ass.

PUMA can kiss Barack Obama's ass. Go ahead and vote for McCain, you dumbasses. Hey, there are a lot of ass references in my post so far!

I'm sorry, I forgot to add Igor Zhivotovksy to the list of people who can kiss my ass:

There were already signs of strain in the morning at a meeting of Democratic women.

Businesswoman Sheila Johnson, who is the owner of the Washington Mystics basketball team and an African-American, was imploring the crowd not to let voters get distracted by Obama's mixed race heritage or his unusual name when a man wearing a "Hillary" button called out from the crowd.

"Hussein! Hussein!" yelled the man, a reference to Obama's middle name. Many in the crowd leapt to their feet, shaking noisy tambourines at him and drowning him out.

The man, Igor Zhivotovksy from New York City, said later he is a strong Clinton backer who thinks she was cheated out of the nomination — and he doesn't like Obama.

"We just finished getting rid of a guy named Hussein in Iraq and why are we trying to elect someone with the same name?" said Zhivotovsky. "Everybody thinks if you're against Obama you're racist."

I agree, it was a good speech. I hope her old man does as well.

It's nice to like Bill again. Hopefully he can sustain his non-dick status for awhile.

It was so nice to hear him say things that just have been said, even though they're giant selling points for Obama.

Barack, an "underqualified" democrat without major foreign expertise? Why, the last time that happened we had eight years of of unparalleled econimic growth and didn't get into any wars!

And the line about Republicans holding the congress and presidency resulting in disaster was exactly what needed to be said...

Those are two points that NEED to be brought up more.
1.The Clintons want to be a help? Put that comparison out there. He was the last real change canidate and it turned out pretty good!
2.Republicans controling the presidency and congress=economic disaters and warmongering, among other thing
-Divided control of congress and presidency=gridlock
-Democrats controlling congress and presidency= actual chance to turn things around.

You know, I'm not a big Putin fan, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

...from David Byrne's blog:

Georgia on my mind

The current conflict in Georgia may be about pride, psychology and influence, but it’s also about oil.

Russia has huge oil and natural gas reserves, and in recent years, it has become evident that these resources will launch Russia as a world power. Europe, to country’s west, has no oil of its own, and neither does China to the east. Exporting this black gold requires passage through pipelines in contentious territory. Georgia is one such territory, advantageous for its strategic port, which Russia lacks. It’s therefore inconceivable that Russia would ever allow its oil lifeline to be seized or controlled by a nation unwilling to perform its bidding. In the Russian point of view, a NATO country controlling its artery would be mad.

So of course when, at the urging of the Bush administration, the nutso Georgian president decides to posture for NATO membership and US supplied weapons and uses a breakaway region as a pretext for action, well, the Russians reacted as one might expect them to. Imagine if China decided to seize control of the region where the Alaska pipeline (or better yet, Saudi oil) reaches a port. The result? Instant conflict.

There’s no arguing or reasoning with people’s whose lifelines are threatened. To escape oil is freedom.

Unfortunately, Obama and Biden will not stray from the "noble free Georgians" rhetoric. We will continue to believe that other nation's interests are always morally suspect if they conflict with our own. Russia doesn't have an ongoing war; we have two and are planning another one at least.

It is a lesson that no nation seems to learn: meddling in other nation's affairs for your own 'benefit' never ends in smiles. Until this lesson sinks in to the consciousness of every voter worldwide, I'm afraid there'll just be more misery.
