. Drummer for Bryan Adams, and had a long stint in the chair for Hall & Oates during their "Voices" to "Big Bam Boom" era (which happens to be my fav era of theirs) .

Jojo is ridiculously talented technically... and yet has a great groove! I remember all the arguments about Dave Weckl, especially during his time with Chick Corea. He was very technical, but lacked that "human" quality. Now, with his own band, he shows he's much more of a free spirit, a bit like Vinnie Colaiuta.
If you've heard Vinnie's solo album - just check out "I'm Tweaked"... THAT is sheer brilliance as far as I'm concerned!
Carter Beauford of The Dave Matthews Band is another drummer worth looking at.

yeah Vinnie has a great style, did you see him with Jeff Beck a little while ago on BBC, he has a fantastic groove.
I saw Dave Weckl not too long ago too. He's a very busy drummer but I really like his style, unique to him which is one of the most important things in my book. It was by far the most informative clinic I have been to, he described his technique in great detail I felt very privileged, it changed my playing style and drum kit set up, made everything faster and effortless.

Yes, I saw the JB gig - it was great - but the bassist was phenomenal as well!
I learned a lot from Weckl's tutoring vids back in the 90's (Back To Basics & The Next Step). Especially stick control and drum tuning... I still use his tuning methods to this day. He has since reworked his own styles, playing with the sticks much more at the balance point. I prefer to to grip behind the balance point for for power when I need it. I also use Zildjian Gary Husband model sticks, where the centre of balance is slightly (a few millimeters) up the stick.
But... Vinnie is DA MAN as far as I'm concerned!
