I've always wanted a Martin. ( Yes, Mr.Tein, it's true).
I picked this up in a local store last week and was amazed at the tone. The neck is a composite material ( read: fancy plywood) which was a bit unusual, but the tone on the thing was so clear and LOUD that I was hooked. After a week of wrestling with my financial demons, I decided the only way to go was to sell the Roland RD500 piano ( which no-one except me plays any more, as we also have an upright) and pony up the cash. It was $AUS1080 with hard case, set-up, and a new set of strings, and bought from the knowledgable, amusing and talented Mr. Terry Dean at

Indeed, it was my tinkering with the tuning C-G-C-G-C-D that inspired the purchase. I will take some time to post the tabs to Judee Sill's 'The Kiss' in this tuning, just don't ask me for chord names, who knows what the hell they are ( apart from you, Jeff, of course).
