Those podcasts with John Leckie are fantastic! Frequently hilarious. I love the story of how the neighing horse got into "The Mole From The Ministry".

So then - on to the main event.

Does anyone anywhere have any clue what is going on with the reissues???!!

There has not been a sniff anywhere in the usual music press / net stuff so any snippet would be appreciated as I'm beginning to get worried - normally release dates being put back a few times = they don't see the light of day!!

I'm back from a 3-week holiday and this is what I have to say (XTC-related):

1. Finally I got the "25 o'clock" and "Psonic Psunspot" reissues (in my country, Spain, there's no distribution for APE records, so I have to go to France or buy them on-line if I want any of Andy's label albums) in a Tower Records in Tokyo.

2. No news on the reissues. And no news on Pony Canyon.

3. We NEED those reissues NOW! The only placebo for an impossible XTC reunion.

Soon Jordi, soon. Our patience will be rewarded, I'm sure.

I could do with out the flakey no-information anywhere though.

This consistently gets old.

Has there been any updates about this? Anything XTC or anything related to the band members, etc lately? Seems a shame the ball seems to have dropped, the Dukes reissues were so nice.

great link Omni Smile

Partridge: Exactly. “Stupidly Happy,” I thought radio would pick it up and play it, genuinely, because I thought this is so instantaneous. You’re singing it before it’s half over. But no radio station picked it up, and no radio station as far as I know played it.
McDonald’s contacted me and said could they use it for an ad campaign, and I thought: OK, millionaire-dom, here I come. And they even storyboarded something out, and then they just dropped the idea. So, oh well.

I think "So, oh well" is the most appropriate comment to the whole story Neutral

Hmm, doesn't sound very imminent to me! Next year, perhaps? Waiting out the recession?
