Well.. I figure I'd start this thread because I've been trying to figure out a few XTC songs and my posts in other threads go ignored! Haha, no harm though, I don't mind. If anyone cares to contribute, please do. I'm not the greatest guitarist, but I'll put down a few things I've gotten down. So here's a start. Maybe now someone will see this!

You can play this other ways, but this feels good for me. I'm not so good that I know exactly position things are being played in. I usually play with mostly open chords and A position barr chords over E position barr chords, but that's me.

Where Did The Ordinary People Go?

A E D E
This street has changed so much
A E D E
A line of fortresses, look but don't touch

But their Doberman won't look the other way

E B D A
There's one thing I'd like to know
G D A B
Where did the ordinary people go?

A E D E
In my street I don't know a soul
A E D E
The walls and fences never have no holes
A E D E
If I could only be your Peeping Tom
A E D E
You could complain about my bonfire burning strong

E B D A
There's one thing I'd like to know
G D A B
Where did the ordinary people go?

Nod my head and say hello

Where did the ordinary people go?

There's no community spirit anywhere

A E D E
In my street we go by car
A E D E
The tinted windows never show who you are
A E D E
If I could see you, I'd complain about the noise
A E D E
I glance across the fence we both might enjoy

This is a little bit different from the one on Chalkhills, but I still don't think it's quite right.

Cynical Days

Intro/Verse:
F# D* Db Dimished

Pre-Chorus:
B Bbm7 A** G#m C#

Chorus:
G D
E Dim G Dim E Dim Db Dim ***

*You can play Dmaj7.. or swtich between them.
** You can play Amaj7, or switch between them.
*** I usually play each chord once and slide from chord to chord.

I'm sure these are probably not the right names, but here are the diminished chords. You can play a bass not on the D string if you like, which would be third fret D (or the note of F) for example.

Db Dim

B-2-|
G-2-|

E---|

E Dim
