So Mrs spidermage says I can't have a spacesuit (I really wanted a spacesuit - Mr Tein would have been so jealous), but I'm working on her to let me get a theremin. I would be grateful for any advice that you can offer. Best? Cheapest? Most reasonable compromise between the two? What else would I need?

Very Happy

I'm not so sure...I mean, isn't it a delicate piece of electrical equipment? I don't claim to be an expert or anything, but I'm sure I remember something about an incompatability* between water and electricity.

*I originally spelt it 'incomnpoiabality' - I may have been drinking.

This fantastic instrument can be heard to devastating effect in the soundtrack to one of my fave movies - viddy, and give it a few minutes - in fact, if you have time, watch the damn movie! Smile

Recently watched a documentary about Léon Theremin and how his 'real' work was developing listening devices and systems for electronic surveillance against the West by the USSR throughout the Cold War that worked extremely well.

I noted that randy George didn't have enough time to put his shoes and socks back on before making the video: naughty boy!

Ah, the theremin in water! That brings back memories. It's almost as much as substituting tinfoil for electrical tape. The sparks are so pretty!
