Not for a while now but when I did, I did a few things. I was in a gardening group that took care of several flower beds along the waterfront area in our city. When my son was in public school, I did lots of volunteering then; walking with the kids to the Public Library, helping in the winter chaperoning for their skating (I had to tie up a lot of ice skates) and I helped as a lunch monitor. I also helped as a "reading Mum"... I helped the little ones who were just learning to read. Also non-school related, I used to help my neighbour do a "Pub Night" at one of the local old folks homes for her service group. It was lots of fun; I got to sling beer , wine and serve snacks to the old folks and loved every minute of it. It gave them a bit of adult entertainment eventhough they were one stop from the grave Sad

What song did you dance to for your first "slow dance" ? Wink

Nights in White Satin - about 1975 - I can remember the smell of hairspray, the blue marcara, the denim skirt and the floral cheesecloth blouse. [Can't remember what she was wearing, though.] A bit nervous in case any activity stirring in the trouser area was either detected or reciprocated - each scenario held its own terrors. It seemed to last for a lifetime and for no time at all. How wonderfully naive and impressionable we were.

What particular fashion disaster were you victim to?

Loads - but my first crucial one was the early seventies suede head look. Crombie, harrington, ben sherman, brutus and lee jeans, tonics, brogues. loafers, red socks. white socks...

Was your first date cool or a disaster?

.
Older than I had planned. I blame the Ministry of Funny Walks for that.

==================================================

Have you reached the age where a good night's sleep is more important than a good night's shag?

(Looks in mirror and nods in acquiescence.)

Well, there are a lot of definitions of a Shag...
Maybe he meant this:

A fine looking bird...

No. I don't think either I, my nearest and dearest, or society at large would significantly benefit from any realistic government option currently available.

Do you know how you will vote?
