Because sometimes a song is just not enough.
Crosby Stills & Nash - s/t
Certainly overplayed, but a remarkable record in terms of songwriting and performance. Fresh to my ears. _________________ I know what it's like to be Peter Fonda. |

She's So Unusual - Cyndi Lauper
I got this strong urge to listen to her LP earlier today. My favorite singer when I was 4, and I still love her. _________________ You got a lot of money but you can't afford the freeway.

Peter Gabriel - ( #3 ) 1980
A challenging record about dislocation and alienation, wrapped in catchy beats and synth pop production. For the outsider in all of us. _________________ I know what it's like to be Peter Fonda. |

Gorillaz- s/t
so, I went shopping for a new used car and decided to bring some CD's to test the speakers. Brought this to test bass. Great album. Only problem... the second car I tested had a broken eject button- It played fine but when I tried to get it out- nope. I have to go back to get it back when they figure out how to do it.... which will work out well- I did actually end up getting a different car there, hopefully They'll get my CD back by the time I pick it up! _________________ ...in my pants |

Hail to the Thief - Radiohead
I weirdly ignored this when released but it's right up there now. There There is just one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. |

I hardly listened to that when it came out. Now it's my third favorite Radiohead album. I grows on you, doesn't it? _________________ You got a lot of money but you can't afford the freeway.

Cool! Just over a week ago I digitized this from vinyl. Sadly, it had been years and years since I'd last heard "And Through The Wire" or "Lead A Normal Life" or "Not One Of Us" or my favorites, "Intruder" (Phil Collins was never again so cool) and "Family Snapshot".
An obscure one I digitized the same day was "These Knees Have Seen The World" by the Dinner Ladies, from 1988. Billy Bragg was kind of a champion of them. Political, but witty; catchy and rhythmic but with no drums. Their song "Dennis & Theresa" always pops up in the back of my mind when I hear Andy's "Young Marrieds" or "The Bland Leading The Bland" (not to mention several Blur songs).
I see that the Dinner Ladies are virtually nonexistent on the web, but has anyone else heard of them? _________________ I'm gonna get a replacement, because I'm so hip. |

The Bevis Frond - Valedictory Songs
Just as New River Head was the masterpiece of his early period, this one is my favorite of the later albums. Often his records tend to be uneven, to an extent, but this one is very solid all the way through. Sad, majestic and some blistering guitarwork. _________________ I know what it's like to be Peter Fonda. |

The Kitchens Of Distinction - The Death of Cool
My fav of the Kitchens' quartet of fine albums. Amazing, soaring guitarscapes combined with wry lyrics and passionate vocals. Powerful and moving. _________________ I know what it's like to be Peter Fonda. |
