No no Mr Tein, you're not alone here !
it' just we didn't read the same comics… Good link anyway, but I know none of those super heroes (except universally known characters from Marvel and kind).
As a kid, one of my favourite character was a "Prehistorian" super hero (and no presbitarian):

I even bought his necklace made with tiger teeth and his ivory knife (both in plastic, of course!) in the early 70's!![/img] _________________ Permanently at the sea… |

Sweet Zeus, I realize it must be "Prehistoric super collector items" nowadays…
wow, seeing the picture below, I even remember I had the fake flint arrow heads in metal too… where are they now? Suppose my mother threw them in the bin… sigh

I suppose I had the best of both worlds... DC, followed by Marvel as I matured.
But Stan Lee, Jim Shooter and Chris Claremont couldn't hold George Rémi, René Goscinny or André Franquin's jock strap, honestly.

But how would they have fared if their creations had been stolen by the comic book companies, they had been cast into poverty while publisher reaped millions from their creations and then to top it all the comic book code sanitised every concept and plot to the drmatic level of a 1950's toothpaste commercial.
of course all six pail into comparison to
Jack Kirby, Alan Moore and Keith Giffen _________________ Blonde pride |

Lee, Shooter and Claremont are all millionnaires, as far as I know. Hergé's the only one outside the U.S. who came close, even though his readership is probably ten times that of, say, Spider-Man. Publishers like Dupuis, Dargaud and Casterman screwed their guys over even more than the American comic-book industry did theirs.
I've always preferred Ditko and Byrne over Kirby. But Goscinny is still and always will be Zeus, forever presiding at this table of Olympians.
... IMHO! _________________ Blech |

Jim Shooter was editor-in-chief at Marvel for a what... a dozen years? Mid-seventies to late-eighties. Marvel's silver age. He must have tucked away a pretty good salary.
Maybe we can reach a compromise and crown Robert Crumb? Or Frank Miller? Or Fred (Fredéric Othon Theodore Aristidès)?

In fact, I named my daughter after one of the characters. |
I must have had several dozen of the pocket digests. I buy one once in a blue moon for my kids.
AND I have the entire first-run series of the original She-Hulk. It only lasted two years (24 issues) in the early eighties. However, as Andy Partridge once remarked: There ain't nothing in the world like a green-skinned girl -- but that dont mean to say you cant look.
... Okay, back to the real world and Cyd Charisse, now. _________________ Blech |
