Steve I'm just thrilled that you are doing this - I love this version of Instant Tunes!

Cheers!

loved both of these too!.....the crowded room sample is manic...what a nutter Andy is Laughing i love the way he goes into the riff from millions and daves with him in an intant then there back into crowded room.....

steve do you not have the full length gigs on these humble cassettes?
i've been listening to the ropiest stuff iminginable for decades......in fact it became almost a mosleyesque perversion for me.....dressing up as a nazi and listening to ear splitting xtc live tapes while having my arse canned Laughing didn't make the news of the world like!!

seriously though it's a delight to listen to this stuff .....the quality is excellent and the thing that your managing to show is the unpredictability of an xtc show.....how many little things were thrown in....to keep it fun for themselves as well as the audience

i'd love to hear full versions of the samples if they exist?

i doth my flat northern cap to you sir.......what you having? a bottle of newcastle brown ale on its way Wink

God these are great... Smile
I close my eyes and flash back to 1979 when I first discovered XTC and it all comes flooding back......
Seriously Steve, thanks a ton.

Well you seem to be liking some of this stuff. Had mates round tonight listening to full gigs and they are loving it. Came across an old gig from Redcar Cotham Bowl which must be early days, with Barry and his steam organ giving it some wellie. Sounded good after a few glasses of Oxford Landing red so thought would share with you tonight.

Wow! Great sounds!
I'm afraid that due to legal stuff we will never see a release of this stuff in some form... The next best thing would be a post on Dimeadozen.

Well, one can hope.

Anyway, thanks Steve!

Steve, if you like Oxford Landing you may also like Poet's Corner. If I was coming to Swindon I'd bring you a bottle to say thanks for the snips!

Well how was your week.Have you enjoyed the files. Hope so. XTC rehearsed a lot before going on tour and not always playing their own songs. Here is a good snippet of a long jam which I seem to remember was done in the Shepperton Studios rehearsal stages where we tried out the full PA and lighting rig before going on tour. This was when Barry was with the band. Enjoy. Any comments feel free to post.

Well peeps if you could only see the pile of live tapes I have here you would be having a fit I'm sure. Wish I could just upload the lot. Some of these gigs are still amazing after all these years even if I am a bit biased. Still you have been rewarded tonight with some real goodies I hope you will agree.
Per sent me a message a while back about any stuff with Barry live on sax. Well big fella you will find 2 tracks now. One improvisation rehearsals and one live, New Town Animal, so hope that satisfies you for now.
Platinumheart asked for early Radios in Motion so there is one from Manchester Rafters. Then we have an edgy live version of Battery Brides. I thought you would like the build up between Andy and Barry. To finish off I give you a fine track by Barry. I hope you agree this is a great performance of Super Tuff. Razz Wine
