This is not a joke sadly. US contractors like Halliburton have a clause in their employee contracts that prevents the employee from suing the company for things that may happen to them in the course of their job. In this case being GANG RAPED BY OTHER EMPLOYEES (still not a joke.) This is not theoretical, a woman sued them for just this offense.
An amendment was put forward to end this clause for companies that do business with the government, which is of course unconstitutional for domestic employees, and a vote was taken. The amendment passed 68-30, which means 30 US Senators voted to prevent any legal recourse to an employer that allows the rape to occur.
