Anything from the Star of India on Old Brompton Road - you really can't go wrong there (if you can get a table). Last time I was in London I went in there after a meal up the road (tapas) and ended up eating again. Pig! But it's definitely worth travelling several thousand miles for. |

In my younger days I was defiantly a Tindaloo man - it burnt at both ends!
Now I tend to favour a Sizzling Korai and go for spicy flavour above heat.
Some of the fancy restaurant do great rice now - Lemon, mango, coconut etc but I love a simple Pilau Rice.
Starter wise I love a Bhaji but ALOO CHAT (Potatoes, boiled and chopped with onion, green chilli and chat masala) and CHOT PHOTIA (Chick peas, coriander, green chilli and spices) are favourites of mine. _________________ Blonde pride |

I'm taking notes for my next England trip. I like what I'm hearing so far. Any other suggestions to add? _________________ "ignorance is bliss" - Jellyfish |

...you're probably aware that a vindaloo is pretty, bloody hot but in the next dimension there's also a Phal, which is possibly hotter than the sun.
...i like the whole shebang- poppadoms with mango chutney followed by some crispy onion bhaji with mint sauce, then onto a lamb jalfrezi with pilau rice with accompanying peshwari nan. Sometimes finished off with some almond or pistachio kulfi.
...sometimes i just get a half tandoori chicken, slap a load of lemon juice over it & scoff that up. _________________ ...there’s a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets... |

It's hard to offer any definitive advice, Blu, because curries vary so much from restaurant to restaurant. I have, however, noticed a recent trend that might influence your decisions. There is a tendency these days to make mild or creamy curries very sweet - much too sweet for my tastes in some cases. I don't know whether this is a phenomenon that is peculiar to my locality, or whether it is widespread across the country. _________________ Jeezus, you dense Limey |
